Phone (2) The Nothing Phone 2 was launched on Tuesday as the second smartphone
from the British start-up around OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. Unlike its
predecessor, the Phone 2 is powered by the flagship Snapdragon chipset and has
a larger battery. The smartphone features an improved Glyph interface that also
supports third-party apps like Uber and Zomato. It has a dual rear camera with
two 50-megapixel sensors. Nothing promises three years of Android OS updates
and four years of security patches every two months for a newly launched phone.

in India at Rs. 44,999 for the base 8GB + 128GB RAM and storage configuration.
The phone is also available in 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB variants priced at Rs.
49,999 and rupees. 54,999. It's available in dark, grey and white and will be

Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4nm SoC with Adreno 730 GPU, Nothing Phone 2 comes with up to 12GB of RAM
and up to 512GB of onboard storage. It has three high-resolution microphones
and a stereo setup with two speakers. For taking photos and videos, the Nothing
Phone 2 has a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera
with a 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX890 sensor with f/1.88- Aperture and optical stabilization
(OIS) and electronic stabilization Image stabilization (EIS) and 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle
camera with 1/2.76 inch Samsung JN1 sensor with EIS, 114-degree field of view
and f/2.2 aperture. According to the
company, the latter also serves as a macro camera (4cm). The video modes
supported on Nothing Phone 2 include 4K
at 60 frames per second, 1080p at 30 or 60 frames per second, and Live HDR in
4K at 30 frames per second. You can also record slow-motion videos at 480
frames per second and time-lapse videos at 4K resolution. On the front is a
32-megapixel camera with a 1/2.74-inch Sony IMX615 sensor with an f/2
aperture.45 stops to click selfies and video calls. Like the Nothing Phone 1, the new phone features
a unique Glyph interface consisting of LED strips on the back of the
smartphone.
According to the company, the slightly changed interface design now
includes 33 individually addressable areas and the phone will support 10 new
ringtones and notification tones. You
can also see the system apps' progress bars for things like timers or battery
charge, or you can check delivery and track progress in third-party apps like
Uber and Zomato. Additional apps are
planned to be supported shortly. The Nothing Phone 2's connectivity options
include Wi-Fi 6, 5G, 4G LTE and Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, NavIC and USB Type-C port. Onboard sensors include an
accelerometer, dual ambient light sensors (front and rear), an electronic
compass, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and
reader. Integrated fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
The
phone is also said to support Face Unlock even when the owner's face is
obscured. The Nothing Phone 2 packs a 4,700mAh battery, which is more than its
predecessor. It has an IP54 rating for dust and splash protection. The handset
supports 45W PPS wired charging (charging pad sold separately) and the company
says the phone can be fully charged in 55 minutes.
